Russ is a Certified Financial Planer and Chartered Financial Consultant. He specializes in Federal Employee Benefits and had eleven years experience in the civil service sector as a supervisor of federal employees. Russ has conducted retirement and financial literacy seminars at multiple federal agencies that highlight the importance of saving and investing as well as maximizing the use of employee benefits. He also volunteers time to provide financial counseling to low income families and has conducted pro bono seminars to military service members.
Russ joined the firm in 2007 after retiring as a Colonel from the US Army with 26 years of service, completing his final assignment as Director for the Office of Military Support, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He also earned a Masters in Military Science at the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth Kansas. He is a member of the Financial Planners Association, the Association of the US Army, the Society of American Military Engineers, the Army Engineer Association, and the Military Officers Association of America. Russ is also an active member of the West Point Alumni Glee Club.
