To help your agency meet that need, WealthCrest has developed a group of short "brown-bag" presentations tailored to address many of the topic areas required by PL-108-469. Some of the more popular offerings are:
- 1 Hour Brown-Bag series- Scheduled to meet your agencies needs, these short informative seminars hit on single topic issues and provide a detailed look at important employee benefit and financial related topics. Some of the topics available include TSP, FEGLI and Life Insurance, Long Term Care, HSA, Risk Management (auto and home insurance), disability, and Ask the Planner.
- 1/2-Day Financial Planning for New FERS Employees - This seminar provides basic information for employees to maximize their benefit options. It includes an in-depth discussion of TSP. The instructor will explain the mechanics of TSP, the fund options, interfund transfers, loan provisions, how to access your TSP information, and how to save and invest outside of TSP.
- 1-Day Employee Benefits (FERS and CSRS ) - This course is a great mid-career tune-up. It includes a discussion of benefits, investments in the TSP, and other financial decisions which have a significant impact on the Federal employees’ retirement. This course will discuss the short- and long-term implications of benefit decisions on retirement planning. A must have for mid-career employees.
- 2-Day Planning for Retirement - The first day splits into half day segments, one for FERS and one for CSRS. This split seminar discusses specific considerations necessary when planning for retirement, including Federal benefits options, best date to retire, TSP, Social Security eligibility, military service, and windfall elimination. On the second day we focus on financial planning aspects of planing for retirement including TSP withdrawal concerns, Risk Management, Long Term Care, and financial and tax planning questions.
- 3-Day Planning for Retirement - This seminar format splits CSRS into one day and FERS into another. Both seminars discuss in depth the federal employee benefits avilable and the special rules that apply to each. We discuss the considerations in planning for retirement, including Federal benefits options, best date to retire, Social Security eligibility, military service, health care, and windfall elimination. On the third day CSRS and FERS employees come together for an in depth discussion on the financial planning aspects of planning for retirement including TSP withdrawal concerns, Risk Management, Long Term Care, and financial and tax planning questions.
